THE GOLFE.
WITHOUT A TICKET.

A good day in the Golfe does not always need an entry ticket. Choose somewhere near your starting point and separate the free activity from the costs of getting there.

CHOOSE AN OUTING

One area. Time to enjoy it.

Three independent suggestions to choose from, depending on your starting point. Durations are our estimates, including breaks; these are not waymarked routes.

01 / 2–3 hours, including breaks

Saint-Tropez, from square to harbour

Start at Place des Lices, wander the streets and finish along the quays. Leave the rest of the day open instead of adding another village.

Budget
No ticket for the walk. Allow for transport, parking, refreshments and shopping.
Before you go
Explore the centre on foot. Check parking costs and location, or your return public transport journey.

  2. Port de Saint-Tropez ↗

02 / 1–2 hours, at your pace

Ramatuelle, time for the village lanes

Choose the village for a short outing: lanes, little squares and a break with your own refreshments. Save the beach for another outing.

Budget
No ticket to wander the lanes. Parking, transport and any visits or refreshments cost extra.
Before you go
Cobbles, steps and slopes: confirm a suitable route if bringing a pushchair or if you have limited mobility.

03 / 2–3 hours, depending on breaks

Grimaud, village and windmill

Explore the historic centre, then continue to the area around Saint-Roch windmill if you wish. This plan covers outdoor spaces; confirm any interior visit separately.

Budget
Free access to the historic centre. Check parking, food and any guided visit costs.
Before you go
A sloping village with cobbles and steps. Ask the tourist office for the best access for your mobility needs.

THE LE GOLFE TAKE

A free activity nearby may cost less than a distant “free” outing with parking, transport and an unplanned lunch.

1. Saint-Tropez on foot: squares and streets

Start on Place des Lices and explore the centre at your own pace. Watching boules or looking at the streets does not require a booking. Museums and paid tours are separate choices.

Our plan: a walk, a break with food you brought and a return journey. Check parking prices before calling it a day with no spending.

2. Ramatuelle and Grimaud: choose one village

Village streets make a useful outing without an entry ticket. Our Ramatuelle walking guide helps you choose stops. In Grimaud, keep to the historic centre for a shorter visit.

Slopes, steps and paving affect comfort. With a pushchair or reduced mobility, confirm a suitable route with the tourist office rather than relying on a general walking suggestion.

3. Pampelonne: plan a public-beach outing

Choose a public-beach access without booking a sunbed or restaurant. Ramatuelle’s tourist office lists freely accessible picnic tables near the geode at the end of Patch car park.

Beach access and parking are separate costs. Bring what you need and check signs, sea conditions and restrictions on arrival. A swim does not have to be part of the plan.

4. A market: browse with a chosen budget

Cogolin’s market is listed as free to enter. Browse and decide afterwards whether to buy anything. Our market calendar helps you choose the right day.

Decide beforehand whether you are buying lunch, a few ingredients or nothing. Follow the market with a walk in the same village.

5. Grimaud: a play stop

The playground behind the château is listed as free to access. Make play the main part of a short outing rather than expecting children to complete a long heritage visit.

The tourist office describes access from the cemetery car park via Aire des Fourches. Check the posted instructions and equipment age suitability on site. A playground nearby does not mean every approach is effortless.

6. Cogolin: a free cultural option

The Château de Cogolin listing gives free entry and mentions its Micro-Folie digital museum. Check it as a possible addition to a village outing.

Ask which rooms and activities are accessible on your date. Free entry does not confirm the programme, opening hours or terms of a particular event.

Practical questions.

Can a free day still cost money?

Yes: travel, parking, food and purchases are separate. These are ideas without an entry ticket, not a guaranteed zero-cost day.

Should I do everything in one day?

No. Choose one village or area and one or two stops. Travel between towns can become the outing’s main cost.
