The bell tower announces Saint-Tropez before you explore its lanes. At the foot of Notre-Dame-de-l’Assomption, that familiar landmark returns to village scale. Our idea: leave the quays for a while, look up and take a quiet pause inside if the church is open.

LEAVE THE QUAYS. LOOK UP.
01
A tower in the skyline
Built in 1634, the bell tower predates the present 18th-century church. Its colour and open bell structure stand out above the roofs. Our advice: look at its outline from the lanes before approaching the façade for details at eye level.
02
Find the church in the lanes
Walk to Rue Commandant Guichard from the harbour or town centre. Allow time for pedestrians and turns in the old village. The map reference marks the church; it is not an invitation to park at the entrance.
03
Choose the right moment to enter
Listed free access still requires checking opening. Inside, look for the Italian-inspired decoration when no service prevents a visit. Remain quiet and follow parish instructions. This guide does not establish public access to the bell tower.
BEYOND THE FIRST LOOK
Build a Saint-Tropez walk
Our suggestion: connect the church with the harbour and Annonciade Museum, then choose another stop around your time. A climb towards the Citadelle is a separate part of the outing. In summer, an early start can make the busiest lanes easier to enjoy.
