Ramatuelle · LE GOLFE / DISCOVER

Château des Marres

BETWEEN THE VINES AND THE BEACHES, ANOTHER RAMATUELLE.

On the Route des Plages between Saint-Tropez and Ramatuelle, Château des Marres is a winery stop within easy reach of the coast. The family estate makes Provence wines and offers tastings, reserved cellar visits and a seasonal wine bar. It provides a more agricultural perspective on a part of the peninsula many visitors know primarily for its beaches.

FIND YOUR RHYTHM

TOUR. TASTE. TAKE YOUR TIME.

01

A family wine estate on the beach road

Château des Marres sits on the route linking the Saint-Tropez peninsula with Ramatuelle's beaches. It showcases Côtes de Provence AOC wines grown on the estate and organic production. The winery describes around 30 hectares of land, 27 of them planted with vines. A stop here helps put the peninsula's agricultural landscape back into focus, just a short change of scene from the busy coast.

02

What happens on a cellar tour?

According to Ramatuelle Tourism, a booked visit explores the vineyard, winery and winemaking stages before a tasting of four estate wines. The public programme runs mainly from April through September and specifies a minimum party of four. Two formulas are listed, including an option with a cheese and charcuterie plate. Dates, prices and group conditions may change, so secure a reservation rather than relying on a general opening-hours listing.

03

Tastings and the seasonal Wine Bar 1907

There is a wine shop and paid tasting at the estate. In season, Wine Bar 1907 opens a more leisurely option with a terrace, sharing plates and the winery's bottles. Availability and reservations differ by season. Decide whether you want an educational cellar visit, a brief tasting, or time at the bar; these are distinct experiences with different planning needs.

BEYOND THE FIRST LOOK

Directions and a responsible itinerary

Use 2998 route des Plages, 83350 Ramatuelle as your destination. The winery lists parking and accessibility amenities, but check the particular spaces and tour route if accessibility is important. If this is part of a beach day, organize a designated driver or suitable transport for the tasting. Calling ahead is also the safest way to confirm the actual opening window.
