L'ESCALET

THE BEACH THAT BECOMES A WALK.

Smaller and more natural than Pampelonne, l'Escalet works equally well for swimming and snorkelling or as a starting point toward Cap Taillat.

LE GOLFE VIEW

“Coming only to lay down a towel uses just half of what l'Escalet offers.”

Its real strength is the transition from beach to coastal trail. Start in the water, walk past the coves and decide how far the day should go.

HALF A DAY AT L'ESCALET

Swim. Walk. Get there before the rush.

01 · MORNING

Arrive early

The beach is roughly 350 metres long. In summer, parking and access fill quickly; an early start improves almost everything.

02 · SEA

Mask, snorkel, kayak

Ramatuelle Tourism highlights the seabed, snorkelling and light water activities. This is a beach to explore rather than simply look at.

03 · TRAIL

Walk toward Taillat

The Escalet → Cap Taillat isthmus section is around 2 km and listed at about 35 minutes one way. It is recommended for children comfortable with walking.

CAP TAILLAT

One of the best ways to extend a swim into a day out.

The trail moves between coves, rock and very clear water. Beyond the isthmus, stronger walkers can continue toward Cap Lardier or Gigaro depending on heat, timing and the group.

GOOD TO KNOW

Natural does not mean logistics-free.

Paid parking in peak season, lifeguards only seasonally, a trail unsuitable for pushchairs and possible summer forest restrictions. Closed shoes, water and the day's conditions matter.

THE MATCH

More coast. Less scene.

L'Escalet is a strong counterpoint to Pampelonne: fewer beach clubs, more rock, walking and small coves. A good fit for an active but uncomplicated day.

TRAIL

Taillat: approx. 2 km / 35 min one way.
