01 · MORNING
Start with the panorama
The tourist-office rooftop viewpoint immediately gives you the scale of the territory. It is the right place to begin before walking into the medieval lanes.
VILLAGE · GASSIN
The Sentinel
A medieval hilltop village at roughly 200 metres, compact enough to walk and high enough to read much of the territory in one view.
LE GOLFE VIEW
“Come for the view. Stay for the village.”
Gassin is one of the best places to understand the geography of the Golfe: Saint-Tropez, Sainte-Maxime, vineyards, the Bay of Cavalaire and the surrounding hills all line up around you. The real surprise, though, is in the lanes and small terraces of the old centre.
A DAY IN GASSIN
01 · MORNING
The tourist-office rooftop viewpoint immediately gives you the scale of the territory. It is the right place to begin before walking into the medieval lanes.
02 · LUNCH
Gassin works beautifully for an unhurried lunch: views, terraces and old streets sit within a tiny radius. This is not a place to rush.
03 · AFTERNOON
The wine estates and countryside around the village extend the day naturally. Minuty and several other estates are visible from the heights.
OLD GASSIN
Porte des Sarrazins, Passage du Guet, the 16th-century church and L'Androuno give the old centre surprising density. It is short on the map, but worth walking slowly.
WHY HERE
Gassin suits travellers who want Saint-Tropez, Ramatuelle and Cogolin close by without sleeping inside the busiest areas. It also works well for mixing beach days, vineyards and quieter evenings.
THE RIGHT MATCH
Choose Gassin when views, village character and a slower pace matter as much as beach access. If walking into Saint-Tropez nightlife every evening is the priority, it serves a different trip.

Around 200 m.

Golfe, Cavalaire bay, islands and hills.
