Cogolin council lists stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking, Optimist dinghies, sailing dinghies and catamarans. Qualified instructors support beginners and those wanting to improve. Lessons, holiday courses, membership activities and rentals can have different requirements and may not be available on every date. The municipality advertises some activities from the age of seven. Its programme also includes sailing tuition and multisport courses during selected school holidays, with Optimist sessions for younger sailors and other craft for older participants. Ask about swimming ability, required paperwork, equipment and places. A supervised introduction may be a better choice than independent hire for a first trip on the water.

The official council site publishes indicative hourly hire prices for single and double kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, dinghies and catamarans, as well as weekly course fees. Charges depend on the craft, session and sometimes membership or residency. Do not confuse a course fee with the cost of a casual rental. Ask for a quote that matches your chosen activity, duration and group size.
BEYOND THE FIRST LOOK
Go to Plage des Marines de Cogolin by the marina area, not Cogolin's old town. Visitor parking is available around the beach sector; a free seasonal shuttle is also advertised by the council, subject to its timetable. Wind and sea conditions can change the activity or lead to cancellation. Confirm your session and follow the instructors' safety guidance.
